Review: The Heart of Betrayal

The Heart of Betrayal by Mary E. Pearson

Rating: 4 of 5 stars

Series: The Remnant Chronicles (2/3)

That was such a mind-blowing book...

The Heart of Betrayal is the perfect middle book for such an action-packed series. The character arcs for each character were so well-developed, especially Lia. She grew from a runaway Princess to a Queen in such a dark, beautiful, and vengeful way that it blew my mind. Could not care less if Kaden lived or died but Rafe, his character completely took me by surprise. I didn't expect to like him at all but his sacrifices, his qualities, and his undying commitment towards his promises just made him from zero to hero in my view.

The writing like the previous book was spot-on and so vivid, there were instances where I felt transported to Venda. The background on the kingdoms was very insightful and impactful.

Can't wait to read the next book and see what is in store for Lia, Rafe, and Kaden.

Happy Reading..
